Online tracking has become a major concern for millions of users, especially those who value privacy while browsing.
Even when using a privacy-focused search engine like Ecosia, it’s important to activate all available protections.
One of the most effective tools is the Do Not Track request, which helps reduce tracking attempts from websites.
Open the Ecosia app from your home screen. In the upper-right corner of the screen, you will see a three-dot menu icon.
Tap it to open the main options menu.

From the menu that appears, tap on Settings.

Inside the settings menu, scroll until you find Privacy.
Tap it to open Ecosia’s privacy controls.

In the Privacy section, find the option called Send a Do Not Track request.

Tap the switch to enable Do Not Track.
Once enabled, your browser will automatically send a “DNT” signal to every website you visit.

Enabling Do Not Track on Ecosia is a simple but important step toward better digital privacy.
While no feature can guarantee 100% protection, combining Do Not Track with other privacy habits like avoiding suspicious websites and clearing cookies regularly helps you stay much safer online.
