If you often travel by car using the Waze navigation app, you may not always want routes that include ferry crossings.

Ferries can add delays, unexpected costs, or even interruptions to your trip if they are not running on schedule.

Thankfully, Waze includes a simple setting that allows you to avoid ferries automatically when planning your routes.

First, launch the Waze app on your Mobile device. Make sure you’re signed in to your account so your preferences are saved.

Look at the top-left corner of the Waze home screen.

You’ll see a small icon with three horizontal lines this opens the main menu.

Tap it to access Waze’s settings and other options.

In the menu, scroll down until you find “Settings.”

Tap on it to open Waze’s configuration options.

Inside the Settings screen, look for and tap “Navigation.”

This section controls how Waze chooses routes for you

Scroll down to find the “Avoid Ferries” toggle switch.

Tap the switch to turn it on

Turning on the “Avoid Ferries” option in Waze ensures smoother and faster road trips, especially if you travel through regions with ferry routes.

Remember, you can also customize other settings like Avoid Toll Roads or Avoid Highways for an even more personalized navigation experience.
